Our daily diet often doesn't provide enough zinc to meet our daily requirements for this vital trace element. Since zinc improves skin elasticity, it can reduce or even prevent the development of stretch marks, which can result from rapid muscle growth and are irreversible.

High-dose zinc supplementation, ranging from 75 to 150 mg, is very popular among strength athletes using anabolic steroids. At these doses, it inhibits the conversion of muscle-building hormones to estrogen and is reportedly often sufficient to prevent estrogen-related side effects such as water retention and the development of gynecomastia when used at moderate doses of these hormonal substances. What can increase zinc requirements?

Vegetarians and vegans also frequently suffer from zinc deficiency, as they do not consume animal sources of zinc, and a predominantly plant-based diet is rich in phytates, which inhibit zinc absorption in the digestive tract.
